‘Blackheads are usually slightly raised and not uniform in location. ‘They are usually found in areas that produce excess oil and have enlarged pores, i.e. nose, chin, back, and they’re normally grey/black in colour at the top due to the oil oxidation with air. When squeezed, blackheads are firm like a plug.
‘Blackheads form by excessive oil production in the skin, in addition to not cleansing and exfoliating sufficiently, or doing so with unsuitable skincare. These can include overly aggressive skincare products, such as harsh serums and overly-drying cleansers and exfoliators.’
